Who we are
Resources, access and guidance — where they matter most
The Giboney Foundation is a non-profit organization, founded in April 2020, with the mission of providing resources — financial via scholarships, experiential through access to internships, and mentorship — to under-served communities.
Our goal is to assist the next generation of leaders in exploring, obtaining, and advancing in various career paths where people of diverse backgrounds have been historically under-represented.
Strategies & plans
The path forward is three-tiered
Each tier builds on the last — from first exposure to a lasting career.

Working with youth and young adults to explore career paths and scholarship opportunities that have a limited representation of people with similar backgrounds and cultures.

Connect
Developing relationships with academic institutions and other organizations to assist in creating a path for young adults to follow their passions or gain exposure to new career options.

Advance
Working with leading organizations to assist in the creation of internships and long-term career development.
Mentorship
Life & career planning, side by side
We walk alongside students and young adults as they plan their next steps — pairing them with people who have been there and giving them practical support at every stage, from choosing a path to landing the first job and beyond.
One-on-one mentors
Each mentee is matched with a mentor who offers personal guidance, encouragement and an honest perspective on school, careers and life decisions.
Resume reviews
Hands-on feedback that helps students present their experience, skills and goals clearly — for internships, scholarships and first jobs.
Mock interviews
Practice interviews with real feedback, so students walk into the room prepared, confident and ready to tell their story.
Planning & other support
Guidance on college and career choices, applications and scholarships, internships, and the everyday life skills that help young adults thrive.

Is college always the best investment?
On average, a bachelor’s degree still brings significantly higher lifetime earnings — and for first-generation students, students of color and those from lower-income families, it can be an especially powerful engine of economic mobility.
But the payoff isn’t uniform. Debt, graduation rates, field of study and fit all shape the return, and those risks fall unevenly. Choosing affordable options, understanding loan terms, picking in-demand fields and schools with strong outcomes for students like them make all the difference — as do alternative pathways like trades, apprenticeships and certifications.
A degree can be a powerful engine of mobility — choose wisely.
