The Giboney Foundation

2026 St. Augustine Shootout for Students

July 31 - August 2, 2026

Join The Giboney Foundation for a premier, bucket-list golf experience in support of our mission to empower the next generation of leaders. From July 31 to August 2, the 2026 St. Augustine Shootout for Students will give you the rare opportunity to compete on two of the world's most renowned championship courses - the World Golf Village, King & Bear course, and an optional trip to TPC Sawgrass, with all proceeds directly benefiting our financial literacy enablement program for youth in underserved communities.

Optional Third Round - TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course!

As a bonus on August 3, step onto the legendary fairways of the Stadium Course, the iconic permanent home of THE PLAYERS Championship. You’ll experience the unique atmosphere of the first true "stadium" layout and take on its thrilling final holes, including the nerve-wracking par-3 17th with its famous Island Green.

The Mission - Youth Financial Literacy

Imagine a generation where every young person—regardless of their background or the balance in their parents' bank account—has the mastery to build a legacy. For disadvantaged youth, financial literacy is the ultimate equalizer, transforming the daunting cycle of generational poverty into a roadmap for generational wealth. By providing these students with the "keys to the kingdom"—knowledge of compound interest, credit management, and strategic investing—we aren't just teaching them to survive; we are empowering them to lead. When a student transitions from being a target of predatory lending to an informed investor, the trajectory of their entire community shifts. Your support is the spark that turns potential into prosperity.

The numbers tell a story of immense opportunity: currently, students in underserved districts score nearly 100 points lower on financial competency exams than their peers in wealthier zip codes, a gap we are determined to close. Furthermore, research shows that youth who receive formal financial education are 25% more likely to save for the future and significantly less likely to fall into high-interest debt cycles by age 25. By joining us at the 2026 TPC Sawgrass Shootout, you are directly funding a curriculum that bridges this divide. You aren't just buying a ticket; you are investing in a future where 100% of our graduates possess the financial confidence to own their homes, start their businesses, and secure their dreams.

Nestled within the renowned World Golf Village, the World Golf Village Renaissance St. Augustine Resort offers a refined blend of classic elegance and modern comfort in one of Florida’s most historic destinations. Surrounded by pristine fairways and scenic lakes, the resort delivers a tranquil, upscale retreat just minutes from the charm of downtown St. Augustine. Guests are welcomed into spacious, thoughtfully appointed rooms featuring plush bedding, private balconies, and serene golf course or village views—creating an atmosphere that is both relaxing and sophisticated.

The Golf - Wolrd Golf Village

Nestled between the historic charm of St. Augustine and the vibrant energy of Jacksonville, World Golf Village stands as a premier destination for those who live and breathe the game. This sprawling 6,300-acre resort community is a masterwork of luxury and nature, with nearly half of its land dedicated to protected preserves and scenic uplands. Visitors and residents alike are treated to a relaxed, upscale atmosphere where the Renaissance Resort, high-end dining like Murray Bros. Caddyshack, and the legacy of the Walk of Champions create a world-class experience. Whether you’re honing your skills at the PGA TOUR Golf Academy or exploring the nearby pristine beaches, World Golf Village offers a sophisticated retreat that perfectly captures the "Old Florida" soul.

August 1 & 2 - King & Bear Course

For a truly legendary experience, the King & Bear course offers the only co-design in the world by the sport’s greatest icons: Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus. This championship course is a "clash of titans" in the best way possible, blending Nicklaus' signature wide, inviting fairways with Palmer’s notoriously fast, challenging greens. The layout is a tale of two styles: the front nine evokes a classic links-style feel that pays homage to St. Augustine's heritage, while the back nine plunges into a traditional Florida landscape of 200-year-old oaks, loblolly pines, and coquina rock. Demanding power and precision, traits both "The King" and "The Bear" were famous for, this course is a bucket-list destination that captures the essence of two legendary careers in every hole.

The second round, on August 2, will be a handicapped stroke play event.  Prizes will include a 7-night stay in Cabo San Lucas, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, or Loreto at one of the Villa Group properties (https://villagroupresorts.com/)!

Optional Third round - TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course, August 3

TPC Sawgrass - Stadium Course

For those looking to make this trip truly legendary, participate in the optional third round of golf on August 3 at TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course!

The Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass is a masterpiece of modern golf course design created by Pete and Alice Dye in 1980 to be the permanent home of THE PLAYERS Championship. Designed specifically as the first "stadium" course, it features large spectator mounds that offer, in combination with its layout, excellent viewing angles, creating a dramatic, arena-like atmosphere. The design philosophy aimed to produce a balanced, "target" golf experience that favors no particular style of play, ensuring that all 18 holes offer a unique challenge - often requiring players to hit a different club—with no two consecutive holes running in the same direction.

The course is widely renowned for its treacherous finishing stretch and immaculate conditioning, featuring vast waste bunkers, extensive water hazards, and thick tree-lined fairways. While many holes challenge accuracy, the signature par-3 17th hole, known for its small "island green," is arguably the most recognized hole in the world, requiring intense mental focus and precise distance control. Complemented by a formidable 18th hole guarded by water, the TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course remains one of the premier championship tests, challenging the world’s best players while providing a bucket-list experience for amateur golfers.

To play, golfers must stay at the Sawgrass Marriott Resort Golf Resort and Spa on August 2nd. There are a limited number of spots for this optional round!
