What is The Giboney Foundation

The Giboney Foundation is a non-profit organization, founded in April 2020, with the mission of providing resources (financial via scholarships, experiential through access to internships, and mentorship) to underserved communities.

Our goal is to support the next generation of leaders in exploring, pursuing, and advancing in various career paths where people from diverse backgrounds have historically been underrepresented.

The Impact: Mallory Butts

The Giboney Foundation is proud to recognize Mallory Butts as the inaugural recipient of the Mary Giboney Memorial Scholarship, a $20,000 award distributed over four years. Mallory embodies the values and aspirations our foundation seeks to uplift: academic excellence, community impact, and an unwavering drive to make a difference.

A standout student in high school, Mallory developed an early passion for creating inclusive skincare products for women of color. Today, she is turning that vision into reality by pursuing a dual degree in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at both Spelman College and Georgia Institute of Technology, with the goal of becoming a cosmetic chemist.

Her academic achievements are matched by her leadership and service. Mallory has completed four summer internships with the Estée Lauder Companies in New York and serves as the Co-Founder and Director of Creative and Strategic Partnerships for Jeans 4 Teens, a faith-based nonprofit that has provided clothing to teens in need across the Atlanta metro area since 2020. In recognition of her commitment to scholarship and service, she was recently crowned Miss Spelman College 2024.

Mallory’s journey is just one example of the incredible potential your support helps unlock.

When you donate to the Giboney Foundation, you are not just funding a scholarship - you are investing in future innovators, leaders, and changemakers like Mallory. Your contribution directly supports the academic and personal development of students who are committed to giving back and building a better world.

Join us in honoring Mary Giboney’s legacy by empowering more young leaders to pursue their dreams.
